Of all days for LA to be cloudy it was on our scheduled beach day! Still got to see the ocean at Redondo Beach by the side of the road, though. After lunch at Marmalade Cafe, Audrey and I walked down Abbot Kinney and had coffee at Rockenwagner Bakery to warm up.
Took a bus back to Santa Monica where my hunt for the perfect turtleneck failed yet again -- but at least we had a nice time unwinding in a pretty department store bathroom (not the first time, okay) where we charged our phones and listened to the great music playing from the ceiling speakers. (Weird coincidence that a bathroom with a black-and-white checkered floor would be the same bathroom blasting Miles Kane's "Quicksand" on its radio feed. And yes, I am actually writing about this bathroom experience here on my blog.)
